How we work

Real-time collaboration — not a 12-hour handoff

The distributed-team model, re-engineered to remove the three things that usually go wrong: the timezone gap, the trust gap, and the ownership gap.

Ways to work with us

Three engagement models

🚀

Fixed-scope project

A defined build with a fixed written quote, milestones and a delivery date. Best for MVPs and well-scoped products.

🧩

Dedicated team

Full-time engineers embedded in your team and standups on a monthly retainer. Best for ongoing product work.

Staff augmentation

One or two vetted specialists to extend your in-house team for a sprint or a stack gap. Flexible, fast to start.

The process

From first call to handover

1 · Scoping call

A free 30-minute call with a senior engineer — in your working hours — to understand the build and tell you honestly if we're a fit.

2 · Written proposal

Scope, milestones, timeline and a fixed price in your currency. No surprises, no padded hours.

3 · Milestone kickoff

We start against a milestone, in a client-controlled repo — you pay for delivered work.

4 · Daily overlap

Live standups and weekly demos while your office is open. You see progress, not just invoices.

5 · QA & launch

Testing, review and a clean launch — with documentation and a knowledge handover.

6 · Ownership & support

Full IP assignment and code handover, plus an optional support retainer for what comes next.

The timezone advantage

When your office opens, we're already at our desks

Many remote teams share only a sliver of your day — or work your night. We assign engineers whose hours already overlap yours, so you share essentially your whole working day with the UK, Ireland and the Nordics, and your mornings with Eastern Canada.

That means questions answered in minutes, not overnight; pair-programming and live design reviews; and the ability to react to a production issue while it's still your business hours — the things an async, far-flung team simply can't do.

What we put on the table — before you ask

Payment you control

Milestone billing — payment due only on delivered, accepted work — fixed written quotes, and invoicing in your currency. You release funds against delivered work. Read the published terms →

Code & IP you own

Client-controlled repositories from day one and full IP assignment under your jurisdiction, signed up front. Nothing is held hostage. Read the published clause →

Data handled correctly

Signed DPA plus the right cross-border safeguards — UK IDTA, EU SCCs, UAE PDPL or Canadian PIPEDA terms — for any engagement touching personal data. Read the published template →

A senior on every build

You talk to a senior engineer — not a salesperson — on a video call before any contract. The commercial rails are public too: our legal terms and our prices.

Straight answer

Why we tell you where we are

Most offshore vendors go strangely quiet when you ask where the work actually happens — and that vagueness is usually the first thing that goes wrong. We do the opposite. Our engineering is anchored by hubs in Lagos, Nairobi and Johannesburg, and we tell you that up front because every promise we make hangs off it: the timezone overlap is a checkable fact of geography, not a scheduling favour; English is an official language in all three countries; and the engineers you'll work with are real, senior engineers you can meet on video — and — before you sign anything.

If knowing where we are changes your decision, we'd rather you make that decision on the first call than on the first invoice. Transparency is cheaper than surprise, for both of us.

The clocks, checked

No daylight-saving time in any hub — the overlap you get in January is the overlap you get in July.

Questions

The honest FAQ

Is working with a distributed team safe for my business?
Yes, when the rails are right. Client-controlled repositories, milestone billing, signed DPAs and full IP assignment under your law — plus a video call with the senior engineers before you commit.
How do I pay a distributed team safely?
We bill against milestones, and payment falls due only when a milestone is delivered and accepted. Everything is in writing before kickoff, invoiced in your currency.
Who owns the code and IP?
You do, entirely. Repos are client-controlled from day one and the contract assigns all IP to you under your jurisdiction.
What about GDPR / data protection?
We sign a DPA and the appropriate transfer mechanism (UK IDTA, EU SCCs, PDPL or PIPEDA terms) for every engagement that handles personal data.
Aren't you just the cheap option?
No. We price 40–70% below local agencies, but we don't compete to be the cheapest hour on earth. You're paying for real-time collaboration, fluent English and senior accountability — not the lowest rate.
