Milestone payment terms

You pay for delivered work, in your currency, against milestones you accepted in writing — and you can leave at any milestone boundary with everything that's yours. These are the terms that make that mechanical.

Standard starting text, published for transparency. Each engagement executes a tailored version; where a signed agreement differs from this page, the signed agreement prevails.

1. Fixed price, from the published book

Every fixed-scope engagement is quoted as one fixed price inside the band published in the Open Price Book, in the Client's currency, ex VAT. The quote honours the book version published on the day of enquiry for 30 days. Scope, milestones, timeline and price are recorded in the proposal before any work starts.

2. Milestones and payment

3. Acceptance

The Client has a 5-business-day acceptance window per milestone to test the deliverable against its written definition. Defects found in the window are fixed at no charge before payment falls due; if no issues are raised in the window, the milestone is deemed accepted. Acceptance disputes are resolved against the written milestone definition, not recollection.

4. Changes

Small clarifications inside a milestone's written scope are included. Genuine scope changes are quoted as a written change order against the Price Book's "what moves the price" factors — agreed before the work, never invoiced as a surprise.

5. Leaving at a milestone (the clean-exit clause)

6. Our side of the bargain

Senior engineers introduced before signature; live standups and weekly demos in the Client's working hours; and if we are the ones who end the engagement early other than for the Client's material breach, the current milestone is completed or its payment waived — the Client is never left mid-milestone at their own cost.
